| Why A.A.P.G.A.I ? |

From time to time I am asked "Why did you choose A.A.P.G.A.I. over the other recognised UK and Worldwide Instructors Associations". This was a fairly simple decision for me to make, I sought advice from some of the worlds leading fly casters as to which organisation was in their opinion held in the highest regard, every time the name A.A.P.G.A.I. cropped up. I also looked at which organisation would allow me the oppourtunity to continually develope my skills and knowledge of my profession with continual professional developement. After researching the various options my decision was made based on conversations with senior members of A.A.P.G.A.I and which can be broadly be sumarised by these paragraphs taken from the A.A.P.G.A.I website; "A.A.P.G.A.I. - Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors - to advance and improve professional game angling instruction and angling. "A.A.P.G.A.I. ensures that its members are able to offer the best informed advice and pass on their skills to customers wishing to learn fly fishing and other game fishing techniques by a rigorous entrance examination process covering the teaching and diagnostic skills required to deliver first class tuition. The Association was formed in 2003 and represents the majority of top class game angling and fly fishing instructors in the British Isles, all of whom hold advanced professional instructors qualifications. "The Association's members are expected to attend continuing professional development (CPD) events featuring new techniques, products and developments in the sphere of game angling on a half yearly basis. Members are actively involved teaching fly fishing skills at all levels from children and beginners to the highest achievable instructor grades for all types of freshwater and saltwater game fish species." |
